Historian Dirk Roodzant visited the Embassy

On June 1st, Ambassador Tigran Balayan received the Dutch historian, lecturer at the University of Amsterdam Dr Dirk Roodzant, who has defended his thesis on the Armenian Genocide on the 23rd of April. The dissertation is based on the Dutch diplomatic archives and press articles published from 1889-1923.

It is summarised in Roodzant’s authored book called “The Armenian Horrors”.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the scientist for the immense amount of work done by him, underlining its importance right now, when the Armenian Genocide is expected to be recognized by the Government of the Netherlands.

Ambassador Balayan and Dr Roodzant shared the same opinion that the recent Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh and the invasion of Azerbaijani forces into the Armenian territory represent the continuation of their genocidal policies and their masterminds openly speak about it. They discussed publication of the book in other languages and the possibilities of organizing an exhibition based on the materials collected by the historian too.
